Administrative Professionals Day/Week

This week, Monday April 19th to Friday April 23rd is known as Administrative Professionals Week. Wow, what a mouth full. It has been around since 1952. So has Administrative Professionals Day, which this year is today Wednesday April 21st. But in 1952 it wasn’t known as the mouthful it is today, it was simply Secretaries Week or Secretaries Day and it was in June. In 1955 it was moved to the last full week of April. Then in 1981 the name was changed to Professional Secretaries Week, but I guess that wasn’t enough of a mouthful so in 2000 the name was changed to Administrative Professionals Week.

So what is it? Well it is a time for the boss and other members of the work force to recognize and honor their Administrative Professionals at the work place.
